Hybrid event format
The basic idea of the Helmholtz Sustainability Summit series of events is that it serves as an information, exchange and idea event on the subject of sustainability for all employees of the Helmholtz Association. With the summits, we are promoting the sustainable development of the Helmholtz Association, among other things, and that is why we have rethought the concept - also guided by the experiences from the pandemic.
We are therefore offering a hybrid format for the first time - virtually on an event platform and in person at the DLR site in Cologne. We hope to reach far more participants with the hybrid event format than just through a purely face-to-face event. It is an agile format and opens up more possibilities for more sustainability.
However, a hybrid event is more than just a live stream. It takes place simultaneously in a physical location with face-to-face participants and on the Internet with online participants. Via the virtual event platform, the online participants are integrated into the live experience of the face-to-face event and offers identical content and comparable interaction options. The workshop topics are processed in the corresponding online rooms. The selected event platform is a powerful web-based online tool that provides features such as video streaming, text and video chat. In addition, both online and face-to-face participants can use the text chat and connect with each other. An installation on a corresponding end device is not necessary, so that easy participation is made possible with an intuitive user interface. The online workshop rooms are also made available via the event platform. All delivering servers are located in Germany and meet the applicable security standards (GDPR-compliant).
In addition to the workshops, the top-class panel discussion, the conference program and the many opportunities for personal networking, the participants who will be on site can look forward to a get-together on the evening of the first day of the event in a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere at the DLR in Cologne.
